A Guide on How to Stop Sweating

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Each individual person suffers from the inconvenience of excessive underarm sweating for a variety of reasons. If a person is obese of overweight they have an increased tendency to sweat. For these people the first step they should try is losing weight by implementing a healthy diet and lifestyle. Some other conditions which may result in excessive perspiration are conditions such as menopause, and psychological illnesses and an overactive thyroid gland. A genetically predisposition for an overactive sympathetic nervous system is another possible cause of sweating in excess.

Searching for a cure in order to stop excessive sweating is critical for any person who is suffering from hyperhidrosis. As if sweaty armpits and sweat drenched clothing wasn’t embarrassing enough, sweating also causes body odor and if a body spray or deodorant isn’t nearby then you could find yourself smelling rather offensive to those around you.

There are many products available these days to help control and live with excessive sweating. Antiperspirants are the most common. In recent times, contoured pads for men have been developed and sold in many stores. These pads come deodorised or fragrance free and are designed to stop sweaty armpits becoming obvious as the pads adhere to the man’s armpits and absorb the underarm sweat thus stopping it from getting all over his shirt. It is important to understand that these pads are not a treatment for sweaty armpits, they are simple an item to make living with excessive sweating easier and more comfortable.

Dietary changes and lifestyle changes may help alleviate the problem sweating. Many spices that burn your mouth also heat up your body which in turn makes you sweat. It is also a wise idea to avoid hot drinks such as tea and coffee as much as possible because these drinks will also raise the temperature of your body and increase how much you perspire.

Antiperspirants may provide you with relief as well but if you have an extreme case of excessive sweating this may just be an expensive and not very helpful method. Some people need to use near a whole bottle or stick of antiperspirant on a daily basis to help stem how much they perspire. After some time the costs of buying one for every day or two would really add up.

Some home remedies you could try in the privacy and comfort of your own home are available and can be quite effective for some people. One home remedy you could use is baking soda. Simply apply some baking soda to your armpits; it works by killing bacteria and absorbing your sweat. Instead of using deodorant try wiping your underarms with a vinegar or alcohol.

Cotton clothing is very absorbent so if you are prone to sweating it may be best to wear cotton in the warmer months so you don’t feel like you are soaking in your own perspiration. Baby powder is another household item that can be used to keep your underarms dry. Body odor can be fought by bathing in a bath for 15 minutes that has only water and 2 cups of tomato juice in it and also by wiping the affected area with apple cider vinegar.

It is a powerful natural digestive tonic, it soothes the lining of the intestines and stomach. Acidophiles yoghurt also aids digestion. Yogurt can help reduce cholesterol levels in spite of the fact it contains cholesterol. It also helps the intestines to synthesize vitamins K and B6. Calcium is better absorbed from yogurt than milk, because of its acidity.

Fibre is essential in your diet. High fibre vegetables include, celery, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, parsley, asparagus and carrots. Apples and bananas are the best fibre fruits to eat. You Need to Monitor Your Health

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

We all at some time or the other do make visits to the doctor to check up on our bodies and its status, whether we are healthy or not. This should not mean that we should only depend on these doctors and relax once we have gone. I think that we as owners of our body should on our own monitor how we are doing health wise. We need to play detectives for our own bodies, this is important because it can avert some complications which can be avoided.

Below are ways in which you can monitor your health by yourself.

1. Check the amount of fruits and vegetables you consume every day. Ensure you get enough.
2. Check how active you are every day. Do you live a sedentary lifestyle, do you not get any form of physical activity at all? this is not good for you.Try and get active, if you work in an office complex that has many floors, take the stairs sometimes instead of the elevator.
3. Check if there is enough fiber in your diet.
4. Keep a mental note of the colour of your urine, this is important. The colour of your urine should be clear, if the colour is dark with a strong smell, maybe you are not getting enough water, if the colour does not change after you take in fluids, please see your doctor.
5. Check if you are getting enough sleep. It is recommended you get 8 hours of sleep every day. Try and go to bed on time, at the least by 10 p. m
6. Check your heartbeat after exercising. This is to check your heart rate recovery. If your heart rate recovery is not good, you are at risk of a heart attack. To check your heart rate recovery, after exercising, count your heartbeat for 15 seconds, then multiple by 4 this will give your heart rate report, and then wait 2 minutes, sit down and repeat. Then subtract the second number from the first, if it is under 55, then your heart rate recovery is not normal and you should check with your doctor.

All these checks add up to prevent any mishap from happening. It is therefore very important that we monitor our health.

Treatment For a Yeast Infection

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

In order to find out how to cure a yeast infection you need to understand firstly the causes and the symptoms. Certainly, a yeast infection is one of the most irritating and exasperating conditions. It is surprisingly common – up to 75% of women and 50% of men are likely to get it at some point. The cause of the yeast infection, or candida as it is also known, is the overgrowing of a type of fungi/yeast called candida albicans. This can then spread throughout your body and cause lots of horrible symptoms and harm.

Let’s look at some of these symptoms!

They can get pretty severe. Damage can be caused to the intestinal walls allowing yeast, toxic waste, bacteria and undigested food to enter the blood stream. This, in turn, can cause rashes, joint pain and inflammation, brain fog and headaches, leaky gut syndrome and digestive problems and much, much more. In addition are the irritating symptoms like intense itching, discharges, yellowed and thickened toenails, red lesions on the skin and even creamy white sores in the mouth. What is worse is that even if you do manage to relieve the symptoms it can recur often up to five times a year and sometimes with increasing severity.

So, what can be done? What is the Best Treatment for a Yeast Infection?

There are many available. Some are old wives tales and some have a medical basis and some from a naturopath or herbal background. Among the medical remedies are the many over the counter pills and creams and lotions. Often effective at alleviating the symptoms they are less successful at treating the cause with the result that the symptom usually returns fairly quickly. Some can badly alter the PH natural balance of your skin which may make the infection recur more severely. Antibiotics are another popular medical treatment. These may well kill off the Candida Albicans and other bacteria but, unfortunately they will also kill the friendly bacteria too. Now, you see Yeast is, actually, naturally occurring within our bodies and in it’s optimum quantity causes no harm. It is the good bacterias job to regulate this and so, by the Antibiotics killing them, this further unbalances our natural system and so the Candida Albicans will multiply out of control again.

There is a lot you can do by yourself to help the problem of Candida naturally. Among these are:

* To carefully attend to hygiene. Candida Albicans is a fungi and it will particularly thrive in warm and moist places. You can help control matters by frequently washing with plain water and unperfumed products and by drying yourself thoroughly. Change your underwear often and try to wear loose fitting clothing made out of natural fabric or breathable materials. This will allow the good circulation of air and help to keep you dry.
* Building up your immune system is also very desirable. Often this can be affected by too much stress and worry, by overwork, not enough sleep, recent illness as well as medicines that have altered your natural internal balance. Taking better care of yourself – starting a moderate exercise programme, eating well and properly, maybe having a massage or other relaxing treatment and allowing time for yourself on a regular basis can only help.
* Trying to avoid too much sugar in your diet. Sugar feeds yeast and encourages it’s overgrowth. Also, by eating too many refined and over-processed foods you can make your body too acidic an environment. Bad bacteria absolutely loves this so eat more vegetables and fruit, nuts, seeds, grains and wholefoods and plenty of raw salads and so on. These foods will promote a more alkaline environment where disease will not so readily flourish.

With so many confusing symptoms and causes, it is now thought by many in the medical and health professions that the only effective and lasting Cure for Yeast Infections is to treat the Candida naturally and holistically. The problem started internally so the cause needs to look internally and address all areas of your health and well being. By carefully adhering to a step by step Holistic Plan and following a Natural path it is believed possible to find and eliminate all the origins and so find permanent relief. As there is no one cause there can be no one cure rather a multi pronged approach to treatment that only by treating your body holistically and regaining it’s natural balance are you likely to find success.

More information on one such step-by-step Holistic Plan can be found by clicking on http://www.yeastinfection-aid.com. This particular plan has been really well thought out and extensively tested. It has been proven to have much success in finding a Cure for Yeast Infections and many happy followers as a result. Why not be one of them!
