Of course this is not “The” only alimentation in yoga. But, as you know, yoga is a way of life, and is normal to be associated to healthy behaviors.
Much of humanity has found that eating meat was unhealthy and eliminated them from their desk. Today there are around two billion vegetarians in the world. More than a billion of them are constituted of Hindus. Besides them, we take into count the Adventists, the sincere practitioners of Yoga around the world, and all the other vegetarians from the different aspects and beliefs.
When we talk about embracing vegetarianism, we can be “vegetarians” (lacto-egg-vegetarians), the “vegetalians” (lacto-vegetarians) and “vegetarianists” (pure vegetarians or vegans). This is one of the nomenclatures used. However, there is no consensus. In India, for example, vegetarians are lacto-vegetarians.
After all, these three strands are cousins to each other. The basic principle is to not eat meat of any kind and any color. This business of calling herself a vegetarian just by not eating red meat but eating white meat, like chicken and turkey, is hypocrisy.
When someone declares that it is vegetarian but eats fish flesh, tell him that it is not vegetarian. It has another name. How is it…? It begins with a Greek root. Macro… No. Hippos… Yes! Hypo, hypo… hypocrite!
The differences between the three streams above are as follows:
• Vegetarian accepts eggs and dairy, and 15,000 varieties of vegetables, cereals, roots, vegetables, fruits, nuts, pasta, etc..
• Vegetarianism does not accept the eggs. Otherwise, there is no difference.
• Vegetarianism does not accept the eggs or dairy products, only vegetables.
