Add Twitter Icon (Or Other Social Media Sites) – Hyperlink in Your Email Signature – Outlook 2007

How to Add a Twitter Icon Link in Your Email Signature

These instructions are written using Outlook 2007 and can really be used to add any icon/picture as a clickable link in your email signature. You could use it to add a LinkedIn, YouTube, StumbleUpon, Digg, etc. icons as well. Do a quick Google search on “social media icons” to get a list of the various websites with free icons.

If you need to resize your desired icon you can use picnik.com, which is a free picture manipulation website to quickly resize the photo to the desired size (in my example I used 25×25 pixels).

In Outlook 2007

1. Go to Tools > Options

2. Mail Format > Signatures

3. Either edit an existing signature or start a new one as needed

4. On the right hand side, above the main edit box, there is an icon that looks like a mountain (2nd from the end) > click that icon to insert your icon photo

5. The next step is to assign a URL (website address) to your picture > click on the picture you just inserted (in the edit signature box). Now you will go to the chain link icon (very last icon on the right) and enter in the full URL you want to direct people to when they click the icon.

6. Click OK to finish

7. Start a new email to make sure everything is working as desired.
